My husband and I have taken this sling/waist pack to Ecuador 5 times. We absolutely love it. It holds all our EDC items. Easy to carry, comfortable, secure, and somewhat water resistant. A mini D a v e k umbrella also fits perfectly. We purchased 2 more to have just in case the style changes in the future.
I put off buying this item for many months because of the price tag, but eventually decided to splurge, and I'm glad I did. I mainly wear this as a bum bug, and as such, I had to get good with the belt clasp pretty quickly but once you have the knack, its easy. The size of the main pocket is a perfect. I can get an umbrella in there, or a small water bottle, or bottle of suntan lotion plus the essentials like sunglasses and phone, but when not using it for these big items, it's compact.
Whilst I don't want to hang anything from the loops on the side (the water bottle or hat gets in the way of my hand as I move), they are great for hanging the bag up when I'm ot wearing it, or tying a sweatshirt from. The loops might be more useful when the bag is worn in the cross-body position.
Don't hesitiate. Buy it.
Three pockets, secure, lightweight except for what you put in it, frees your hands. Been using since I got it.
