The overall pack design and space inside are great. Also great that you can put a water bladder inside with the lead coming through a built in whole buy it just doesn’t sit comfortably. Feels like it’s missing something to rest more comfortably on your shoulder. Really not a fan of sling bags.
I've much preferred sling backpacks to straight backpacks (in urban settings) despite their necessarily smaller size. They're much easier to take on and off and if you take a seat on public transport, it's easy to slip under your arm without removing. If you don't need to carry around a 13 inch laptop, then this is the best sling backpack that I know of. I've tried just about all of them: EMS, REI, LL Bean... This has two bottle pockets on both sides. The left I used for a water bottle and the right I used for additional emergency bags (if I wanted to buy groceries). Pics attached. The main compartment was large enough to hold my 11 inch E-Ink tablet, an SLR camera and wind breaker. If you need to carry a 13 inch laptop or larger, I wouldn't recommend it. The security features gave me some ease of mind while standing in a crowd. There was going to be no thefts of opportunity so long as everything was zipped and latched. I also added a mini-carabiner to the loop on the secondary compartment for just a little extra theft deterrent. As an aside, the wire mesh beneathhas already started to discolor and abraid the fabric; and this is probably unavoidable. Lastly, unlike Pacsafe's competing offer, this sling can be adjusted to go over either shoulder. That's a *huge* advantage. A smaller waist strap secures it in…
